# Giving & Taking

Learning expressions about giving and taking is one of the first topics in any language-learning setting, and be it only because we are often guests and tourists in the country of choice. And this is not different in Georgian.

Therefore, learning the words [აძლევს](https://www.kartuliena.eu/adzlevs/) and [მიიღებს](https://www.kartuliena.eu/miighebs/) should be straighforward and pose no bigger problem. One should be a bit more careful with აძლევს because it does not belong to any of the more familiar conjugation classes but is rather a mixture of აძლევს and მიცემა, depending on tense or mood.

To express given and taken, you can use [მიღებული](https://www.kartuliena.eu/miighebs/) and [მიცემული](https://www.kartuliena.eu/adzlevs/), for example მიღებული სტატია - the accepted article or მიცემული საჩუქარი - the given present. Both should not be hard to learn, since they are derived from მიიღებს ანდ აძლევს/მიცემა. Indeed, such cross-links can help fortify the connections between the new words in your neural networks, for example connecting აძლევს with მიცემა/მიცემული!

Fore the advanced learner other verbs could be useful to express *offering something* or *handing over something* to someone to become a bit more articulate. Both of these meanings are expressed by the verbs [მიაწოდებს](https://www.kartuliena.eu/miac-odebs/), [მიართმევს](https://www.kartuliena.eu/miartmevs/) and [შესთავაზებს](https://www.kartuliena.eu/shestavazebs/).
